Hidden Photographer Prices?

Hi! I came here to ask if this is normal and maybe I'm just misinformed:

I recently just did a grad photo session with a friend, everything went well, our images were back within a few days. My friend's Mom paid for the session (which I was not aware was $600 for ONE hour, already pricey but whatever). I get onto the gallery and most of the photos are great, but they have this HUGE watermark on them. I thought it would just be there until the download, so I went to try to download some. Come to find out, you have to PAY to download.... after you already paid for the session? It cost $30 PER digital download and $350 if I want the whole gallery. At this rate its just cheaper for me to buy physical prints and scan them in.

Am I wrong for feeling like this is a bit scammy?? Would it be horrible of me to put a review about this? Because after looking at her website, I saw nothing mentioned upfront. Additionally, one of the photos was clearly edited with AI. We were in a busy college gateway, so some people had to be edited out of the back. Suddenly after editing the people out, the walkway changed from bricks to concrete, and there is a building by one of the pillars that doesn't continue onto the next pillar. It just looked sloppy.

I just feel like having a $600 ONE hour session plus a few poorly edited photos AND charging $30 PER digital download is crazy. I feel very off put by this photographer.
